I'm probably being really stupid here. But how do I get music from my PC onto my HTC. Sync doesn't work as my device can't find my PC or the other way round. Is there a way to just drag and drop straight into the phone memory? If so which folder do I put it in. Please help as I'm getting annoyed with it all.

Hi LadyDanger and welcome to the forum.

IMO forget about Sync.

Just connect the phone to the PC via the micro USB cord that came with the phone, choosing to connect as a drive. After a few moments a window will display on the PC screen. Choose to view files, then navigate to where you want to put your music files. Minimize that window to about half your screen and move it to one side.

Then open the folder on the PC that contains your music files, also minimizing it and move it to the other side of the screen. Then you can drag'n drop from PC to phone - or - you can "copy to folder" to the phone.

I actually recommend moving the entire folder for better management.

And don't forget to "Safely Disconnect" your phone.

Thanks for the help. Just one more question. Where do I put the music? It's just there are lots of folders to choose from. Or can I just make a New folder for music?

Here's what I did... On my PC I created a folder and named it "audio" then I copied all the mp3 files to it that I wanted on my phone (leaving the originals on the PC.) Then after connecting (as described above) I just moved the entire folder over.

Then open up your media player app of choice and in the settings, tell it where to look. Note: not all media players need to be told, but some will have that feature.

Also - You don't really need to keep mp3s in a folder because Android will find them, but it is much easier to manage them. You'll always know where your mp3s are.

Thanks so much for your help. I have music on my phone now. Drag and drop is such a lovely way of doing things. I just switched from iPhone 4 to HTC. So far HTC wins hands down. I really disliked iTunes.
