My phone has been saying Low on space for the last week or so. I have removed and uninstalled apps but I can't get it to change.  What am I missing here? There has to be something I just didn't realize I had to do right?  I love the phone but I am irritated! Angry

How many apps do you have?? Try moving some to the SD card. If you use the "App 2 SD" app it might make things easier, it will also keep track of how much free space you have on your phone.

You can also go to settings -> SD & phone storage and see how much available space you have on your internal storage.

I only have one app that allows me to move it to the card.  I will have to do more searching for an app to help.  Thanks

I started with the "low on storage" message yesterday. I have deleted quite a few apps and moved others to the SD card. Still no success in getting the message to go away.

Thanks but I ended up having to remove some apps and move others to my SD card. I downloaded Apps 2 SD and it is a very useful app. Rebooting did not do the trick.

Great app just downloaded it. Is there anyway to disable the icon?

The icon only pops up when theres an app available to be moved to the SD card

Well I read that then went to manage apps and went threw EVERY app and moved which ever apps could be moved. (Which was none cause all apps i have that can be moved to the sd are on the sd card.) And i still have the low space icon

What is the dialer storage? What will it delete if I clear the data? Its got 253mb of data on it.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents in on this, as I was having the same issue. Just in case others are having it to the level I was, here's what happened start to finish:

Problem -
I did everything that people had suggested, (I.e. go in the SD card and delete the .Mail folder, free up other space on the SD card, move apps to the SD card, etc.) all of which did not solve my problem (over 7 GB available on the SD card). I was still getting low and no memory warnings, wouldn't download e-mail or text messages, the Amazon app (which I've never looked at) was giving warnings, and programs were crashing and shutting down on their own.

Solution -
Since the phone was spiraling downwards fast, I decided to reset the phone back to factory. Luckily I don't have tons of apps like many of you here, nor do I super-customize it like some, so it wasn't a huge deal for me.  All I know is thank goodness for HTC sync for all my contacts!!

Theory -
There's only a couple of things that happened before this that may have started this train wreck of events: The FW update from late-December, (and after reading the suggestions on here) I uninstalled Advanced Task Killer. Maybe it's just coincidence, but for the Sensation to have a Windows-esque failure like it did, something wasn't right between those two events. After the reset, the SD card still had the same space as before (obviously), and oddly, less internal memory than before, but she's purring like a kitten again with no warnings.

Hope this can help someone in the future! Hope there isn't something malicious going around that I happened to get, or ill-effects from uninstalling the A.T.K.

Check out this link.  It might be a .mail folder problem.  I use Astro as the file manager for my phone.  Today I started to get the "not enough free space " message and knew what it meant since we've been through this before.  Checked my .mail folder and it has 19, 954 files which contains a total of 1.8 billion bytes!  The folder definitely needs some housecleaning!

EDIT:  Deleted all email except the past two weeks.  Freed up 1.2 G of space!  Emails are coming through again and no "free space" message popup.

Thank you. I am going to keep an eye on the mail folder. I didn't have low memory, but why would it save all of those files?

Why my phone says Phone storage is getting low?? I had moved to the SD all the applications that the phone had let me...but I think once a month the message appears...

And also, where does the Sensation stores the photos, etc?

thanks  Wink
