I have just updated my Sensation XE to ICS and one of the new features is that you can add and remove panels / home screens when pressing the home button twice.
One of the panels has a green frame and this seems to be the 'main' frame, the one that comes up by default when you press the home button.

The question is, how can I change this back to the middle screen / panel?

Just long press on the one that's 'green' and slide it back into the middle.

Did you get what you were looking for? I have been facing a similar problem after the ICS update. The problem is, i am not able to change the default home screen to any of the seven available screens like earlier. I am stuck with 'default home screen' which has the green outline.

If anyone has managed to solve this really annoying problem, please share it.

Cheers!!

The "green" screen is always the home screen ("attached" to the Home button)
When you press the Home button, this is the one that will show itself.

If you want the widgets and icons on this one to appear when you press Home, move them to the "green" screen.

If you want the "green" screen to appear in the middle when you pinch to show all screens, just long press and drag it to the middle.

Hope this makes sense.

Thank you for the quick response. I understand what you mean. I was wondering if there is a way to assign the 'green box' to a different panel (one of the other 6). this was possible earlier by changing the position of a particular panel to the middle to make it the home screen.

Now, it is the green box which decides the home screen. Instead of moving the required widgets and apps to the green box panel, can we move the green box to another panel?

Thanks again.

No.
Well yes, but you have to edit the build.prop file (and you need to be rooted to do that).
