Hey guys,
I accidently did s-on incorrectly so it locked and I had to use htc dev but i was still s-on.

The problem is that i have hboot 1.23 and so I cannot flash any firmware files from hboot or from the cmd prompt because it is utterly useless.

Is there any other possible way of getting s-off so i can run a ruu file and fix it?

I've tried the taco=root method but that just doesnt work. I am really desperate because i love all of the ICS features and I am now only able to use android 4.01 roms and they are just outdated versions that are filled with bugs.

Does anybody have any knowledge of any other methods of s-off or if revolutionary will ever update to support hboot 1.23 for when the ics OTA update arrives for the sensation? Cry

Thanks Smiley

Extract the rom.zip from your stock RUU, rename it PG58IMG.zip. Drop it on the sdcard then reboot into hboot and let it run its course. Once you are back on stock Revolutionary will work.

The problem is that it is hboot 1.23 and so it cannot flash nd pg58img files or run any advanced fastboot commands.

Yes, I see and understand.

For now, I think you are stuck  Undecided

Suggestions/questions:

- Go back to HTC DEV Unlock and do the unlock bit again (it will not give you s-off, it is not what it does)
- then try to flash another hboot, preferably 1.27 Revolutionary with S-OFF.
- Now test if you are able to SuperCID
- Run a stock RUU with 1.17 hboot from fastboot
- Run Revolutionary

-------------------------
have you tried to run a stock ICS RUU with a higher hboot version ?

are you able to enter fastboot on your phone ?
do that, then run RUU.exe with phone connected

I tried to use htc dev again but it doesn't change my hboot from 1.23 to anything else so nothing will happen.
I tried a higher RUU but it didnt work ( error 155) because of hboot 1.23
and i can go into fastboot but same problem as aboce  Cry.
Do you think there will be a way to s-off the sensation with hboot 1.23 when the ics updates come rolling out???

For now, I don't think you can do anything.  Cry

Are you on stock or custom recovery ?

If you are on a custom recovery such as ClockworkMod or 4Ext, you will not be able to update.
OTA updates require the stock recovery.

Fingers crossed for a Revolutionary update.

Please tell me how?

Back to the issue on the hboot, did you unlock it or not?
What does it say at the top?

Do you have stock or custom recovery?

Well it says unlocked and s-on but still hboot 1.23
To get the stock recovery all i would need to do is get the img file for it and put it into the adb folder on my computer then
just boot into fastboot and type on the cmd fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
This method is what i used to flash 4ext and cwm.

(I know about fastboot and how to flash anything through adb and fastboot, and I know about 1.23 hboot with s-on and its shortcomings.)

By your own admission in the beginning of this thread you said nothing worked, no flashing through hboot, no adb fastboot commands etc.

Do you have stock or custom recovery?

Now you admit that HTCDev Unlock did work, which is great  Smiley
HTCDev Unlock isn't supposed to replace hboot or s-off, it just unlocks the bootloader (hboot).

Next step would be to SuperCID

No need to change recovery.
Next get the hboot 1.23 with s-off and flash that
find it here: http://www.htcsensationforum.com/htc-sensation-rooting/coredroid-v4-0-ics-sense-3-6/

if that works out, then flash the hboot 1.27 s-off

if not, try a RUU

What did you do? Did you drop the file on the sdcard and try to flash that through hboot?
Did you get any error messages, what ?

nothing in hboot 1.23 works, no flashing apart from simple ones and no advanced fastboot commands. I have tried many times to flash pg58img file but it gets to parsing pg58img.zip and then just reboots the bootloader, it's done this with every firmware file.
